Art in Cut Paper: An Introduction
This 6 week class course will introduce students to a number of different papercutting traditions, from scherenschnitte (German and Swiss) and wycinanki (Polish) to kirigami (Japanese) and papel picado (Mexican). In this class, students will design and cut a number of works in the cut paper traditions mentioned, while being inspired by historical and contemporary examples of art in cut paper. This 6 week session runs cost $125.
